Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to implement, monitor, and maintain occupational health and safety standards across the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing safety procedures, conducting risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the workplace. The candidate should have strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and the ability to independently manage health and safety operations while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with UAE occupational health and safety regulations and relevant industry standards.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize workplace risks.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and safety violations, preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Conduct safety induction programs, toolbox talks, and awareness training for employees.
- Monitor compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and safe working practices.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, fire drills, and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain HSE documentation, records, reports, inspection checklists, and compliance records.
- Liaise with government authorities, consultants, and external auditors during inspections and compliance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, fire safety, and workplace safety requirements.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure adherence to company HSE standards.
- Provide regular HSE reports, observations, and recommendations to management.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement across the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-5 years of UAE experience in Health & Safety, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or corporate environments.
- Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Strong reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to conduct safety training and awareness sessions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a JAFZA, Free Zone, industrial, or large-scale corporate environment will be an advantage.
- Experience dealing with UAE regulatory authorities and safety compliance inspections.
- Strong understanding of emergency management, fire safety, and occupational risk control.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple safety priorities.
