Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Packing Technician has relevant hands-on experience as an Packing Technician in cigarette/tobacco manufacturing within our manufacturing facility. As a Senior Packing Technician, you will be responsible for Hands on experience on Cigarette Packing technologies like GD X2, X1, X3, X6, C600, Focke – F3, & F4, & F5 machine's run ability and quality related problems and their troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and monitor packing machines as per production requirements.
  • Perform machine changeovers, adjustments, and parameter settings for different products and packaging formats.
  • Monitor machine performance, production output, material usage, waste, and downtime.
  • Carry out first-level troubleshooting and coordinate with the Maintenance team for major breakdowns.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance.
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure products meet required packaging and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate production, machine, downtime, and material usage records.
  • Identify machine abnormalities and production issues and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, HSE requirements, GMP, and company safety procedures.
  • Guide and support Junior Machine Operators and Production Assistants.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support production targets and continuous improvement initiatives.

People Management:
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and technical support to Junior Machine Operators, Machine Operators, and Production Assistants.
  • Supervise and monitor the activities of operators assigned to the production line during the shift.
  • Ensure team members follow correct machine operating procedures, production instructions, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct effective shift handovers and communicate machine status, production performance, breakdowns, and pending issues to the incoming team.
  • Ensure all machines are operated strictly in accordance with SOPs, work instructions, manufacturer guidelines, and company safety procedures.
  • Conduct pre-start checks and ensure all required machine guards, safety devices, and emergency systems are in proper working condition.
  • Immediately stop and report unsafe machine conditions, abnormal operations, or situations that may result in injury, equipment damage, or product contamination.
  • Strictly follow HSE, GMP, quality, housekeeping, and production standards applicable to the manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safe working practices among junior operators and production staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area in accordance with established housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure production records and machine documentation are completed accurately and maintained as required.
  • Support internal audits, quality inspections, safety inspections, and investigations relating to production or machine operations.
  • Report any non-compliance, equipment failure, product defect, or safety incident immediately to the relevant supervisor or manager.

Experience:
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, production, or packing operations.
  • Hands-on experience in operating and setting up industrial packing/packaging machinery.
  • Experience in cigarette/tobacco manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Experience with GD, Hauni, and Decoupler machines is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of machine setup, changeover, adjustment, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lead and guide junior operators.
  • Good understanding of workplace safety and production quality standards.
  • Diploma/ITI or technical qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Production, or a related field preferred.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and in a production environment.

Education:

  • Diploma or Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant technical certifications or manufacturer-specific machine training will be an added advantage.
